Our
group at the natural phenomenon, the Devil's
Marbles, 100 kilometres south of Tennant
Creek.
An excellent example of spheroidal weathering.
Most of the shaping took place underground, and
was completed by further natural weathering after
the surrounding loose sands were blown or washed
away, leaving the boulders exposed to the
elements.
This is a Dreaming Place of the Watamungu, who
believe that they are eggs laid by the Rainbow
Serpent.
