.....and close by, after a short scramble over the rocks, some aboriginal artwork is to be seen on the neighbouring rock face. The local guide enthusiastically describes the paintings....

....but perhaps they aren't the most spectacular examples of this art form to be found in the Kimberleys!

A detour of a couple of kilometres along the road towards Kalumbaru to where the Gibb River crosses the highway is well worthwhile. The surrounding area makes for a delightful stop-over for lunch.
