GRACE CATHEDRAL was designed by Lewis P. Hobart, who used Notre Dame in Paris as his model. The leadlight windows were designed by Charles Connick. The Rose Window over the West door was made in Chartres, France in 1964 by Gabriel Loire. Work started on the construction of the Episcopalian cathedral in 1927. The building was not completed until 1964.

The entrance doors decorated with scenes from the bible were cast from moulds of Ghiberti's 'Doors of Paradise' constructed for the Baptistry in Florence, Italy.
