THE SEVENTEEN MILE DRIVE is a toll road on the peninsula west of Monterey. It provides spectacular views of the coast, inland forests and wealthy estates and mansions. The country clubs and golf courses are world famous. The local fauna is geared to entertain the tourists (and be fed by them) as the pictures on this page will confirm!

The drive is situated close to Monterey which is described on another page. The Eastern exit at the golf links leads to Highway 1 which continues southwards to Big Sur.
