On June 2nd 2002, the restored Control Tower was opened to the public by Beryl Davis, Glenn Miller's wartime singer as noted on the plaque shown on the left.

Close to the airfield is the Fox and Hounds public house which, in WWII, was no doubt frequented by local military personnel (right)
